Limnology and Oceanography

Limnology and Oceanography (L&O; print ISSN 0024-3590, online ISSN 1939-5590) publishes original research articles, reviews, and comments about all aspects of limnology and oceanography. The journal's unifying theme is the understanding of aquatic systems. Submissions are judged on their originality and intellectual contribution to the fields of limnology and oceanography. Site-specific studies, laboratory experiments, and modeling exercises will be considered only to the extent they contribute to a broader understanding of aquatic sciences.

Papers that focus on new measurement equipment and techniques or on evaluations and comparisons of existing methods should be directed to the companion journal Limnology and Oceanography: Methods.

Six regular issues of Limnology and Oceanography and occasional special issues are published each year by the Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography (ASLO) in partnership with John Wiley & Sons.
