LO Methods new IF

The Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography publishes four journals: three peer-reviewed publications, including Limnology & Oceanography (L&O), Limnology & Oceanography: Methods (L&O: Methods), and Limnology & Oceanography Letters (L&O Letters), as well as the quarterly Limnology & Oceanography Bulletin. ASLO’s three peer-reviewed journals vary in specific aims and scope, but all strive to publish the highest quality of impactful research in the aquatic sciences. The teams behind the ALSO journals are committed to increasing the reach, representation, and inclusion of its authorship and subject matter.

ASLO is proud to report that each peer-reviewed journal received an increase in their impact factors (IFs) and are ranked highly within the top journals in the fields of limnology and oceanography.

Limnology & Oceanography Letters, ASLO’s newest journal focused on innovative and trend-setting research in the aquatic sciences, was ranked as the #1 and #3 journal in the fields of limnology and oceanography, respectively. L&O Letters’ impact factor also increased from 7.875 to 8.507.

ASLO’s journal of Limnology & Oceanography includes original articles and review papers about all aspects of limnology and oceanography. L&O’s IF increased from 4.745 to 5.019, and it was ranked as the #3 journal in the field of limnology and #4 journal in the field of oceanography.

Limnology & Oceanography: Methods features papers that focus on new measurement equipment and techniques or on evaluations and comparisons of existing methods. L&O: Methods’ IF increased to 3.162, up from 2.634, and it was ranked as the #5 and #20 journal in the fields of limnology and oceanography, respectively.

The success of the ASLO journals is due to the hard work of the incredible ASLO members who serve as journal Editors, Deputy Editors and Associate Editors, the dedicated efforts of our peer reviewers, the support of ASLO and Wiley staff, and, of course, the outstanding ASLO authors! This success yields more than impressive metrics and exceptional science. As society-published journals, the ASLO Limnology & Oceanography family of publications provide significant support of the many public outreach, professional development, and education initiatives run by the society.

ASLO President, Roxane Maranger, states: “ASLO is delighted at the outstanding success in the performance of all our journals this last year. On behalf of the ASLO board, I wish to thank everyone who contributed to their success particularly in this challenging time. Congratulations to all. We are proud of our ASLO journals, and invite you to make supporting scientific society journals part of your practice given the important feedbacks they have in supporting our science more broadly. Join me in acknowledging the hard work of the teams that made this happen!”
