ASLO 2027 Aquatic Sciences Meeting
28 February-5 March 2027 · San Juan, Puerto Rico, USA
Waterscapes Under Pressure: Drivers and Opportunities
The oceans contain more than 5,000 times the volume of water found in inland lakes and rivers combined. Yet, their biodiversity and functioning are tightly linked across the aquatic continuum, as are the fates of ecosystem health and human society. The 2027 ASLO ASM aims to explore the drivers and stressors that shape aquatic systems, and identify opportunities to implement sustainable solutions. We encourage contributions that 1) explore the functioning of the aquatic continuum, 2) identify formal and informal opportunities for education and engagement related to water, and 3) focus on approaches that empower underrepresented groups to equally benefit from and contribute to water research, policy and governance. Exploring the synergies among these themes will help turn the tide to advance our knowledge of these diverse global waterscapes and their protection.
Meeting Schedule
We look forward to having a dynamic meeting! Workshops and meetings will take place on Sunday, 28 February with the rest of the program to follow Monday, 1 March through Friday, 5 March.
