Call for 2027 Aquatic Sciences Meeting Co-Chairs
ASLO is seeking nominations (including self‐nominations) for individuals interested in serving as co-chairs of the Program Committee for the 2027 Aquatic Sciences Meeting. Typically, the ASLO Aquatic Sciences Meeting is co-chaired by two aquatic scientists, one limnology-oriented and one oceanography-oriented.
Additional criteria to be considered for Co-Chair include:
- Attendance at previous Aquatic Sciences Meetings (e.g. at least two)
- Prior service on the program committee of a society meeting
- Commitment to attending one in-person preparatory meeting
- Experience convening sessions, workshops, or other meeting events
- Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from other societies and backgrounds
- Capacity to communicate clearly to respond rapidly to evolving issues, make informed decisions, and meet deadlines
The ASLO Meetings Committee will consider all the nominees and make a recommendation to the ASLO President for approval by the ASLO Board.
Send nominations to Mik Bauer, ASLO Business Manager ([email protected]) by Friday, 6 February 2026. Self-nominations should include a CV and brief description of your interest and relevant experience. If you are nominating someone else, please include their name and email address so ASLO may reach out to them directly.
ASLO had anticipated to hold its 2027 meeting in Honolulu, Hawaii, and you may have seen communications in that regard. Due to unexpected circumstances related to ongoing construction at the Hawaii Convention Center, ASLO must change the location of the 2027 Aquatic Sciences Meeting and we are fortunate to be able to return to Puerto Rico.
