We hope all of you are as excited as we are to see the latest in ocean science research, meet new friends/colleagues, and catch up with old ones. For students and early career scientists, the Ocean Sciences Meeting is also an excellent opportunity to expand your professional skills and career interests. We have been working hard over the last year to bring you a selection of professional development events to support the new generation of leaders in the ocean sciences. This is your guide to student and early career activities and other events happening during OSM 2022!

We also welcome everyone to attend the JEDI Committee Town Hall on Friday, February 25. The goal of this event is to bring together members from the broad ocean sciences community to expand the network of ideas, actions, and participants working on increasing justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion in the ocean sciences.
The UN Decade of Ocean Science for Sustainable Development (2021–2030) is underway with a comprehensive collection of efforts focusing on the theme of “The Science We Need for the Ocean We Want.” OSM 2022 is honored to contribute to this effort as an endorsed Ocean Decade Action by promoting connections among oceanography community scientists, nongovernmental organizations, nonprofit organizations, and the private sector. OSM’s involvement with the Ocean Decade will continue through 2030. This list of events and sessions features some of the many topics covered at OSM 2022 relating to the Ocean Decade.
