Travel Grants

ASLO Student Travel Grant Application

ASLO student members are invited to apply for a student travel grant. Upon registration and abstract submission, students will be offered the opportunity to apply for a Student Travel Award to help defray the cost of travel and/or registration for the meeting.  To be eligible, applicants must be an ASLO student member, and the application must be completed at the same time as the meeting registration and abstract submission.  Travel awards will be paid in US dollars only.  The information collected on the application will be used to weight applicants in a randomized drawing for travel grants. ASLO Early Career Travel Grants

A limited number of travel grants will be available for ASLO early career members to defray the cost of registration and/or travel to the meeting. ASLO early career travel award applications must be submitted at the same time as the meeting registration and abstract submission and payment of both fees. The application requires those interested to provide information about their current funding situation and the need for funds. To be eligible, these should all be received in accordance with all meeting deadlines. Travel awards will be paid in U.S. dollars only. 


UIB And SOCIB Registration Grants for Developing Countries

To help cover the cost of registration of participants from developing countries for the ASLO 2023 Aquatic Sciences Meeting in Palma, there will be 10 registration grants available for professionals (presenting at the in-person meeting in Palma) and 34 grants for registration of professionals and students for the virtual component from universities and research institutes of developing countries (see list of developing countries (https://www.aslo.org/palma-2023/world-bank-developing-countries/). Those presenting orally will be given priority over poster presentations. For students, there will be the choice of using the granted fee for virtual or in-person meeting.

Please fill out the form below and return to Maria Calleja (m.calleja@uib.eu) on or before February 10.

The grantees will be informed by February 17 so that there is time to submit the abstract (and register early) to the ASLO website (deadline February 23).

How to Apply

Apply for a travel grant during abstract submission. Abstract submission requires a paid registration and abstract fee.

After your abstract information, you’ll find the “Travel Grants” filed in a section titled “ASLO Student and Early Career Travel Grants.” Choose either student or early career and fill out the resulting form.

You will receive a separate confirmation of your application when your abstract is finalized and submitted.
