Student Opportunities

Student Workshops and Social Opportunities

There will be student workshops during the meeting. Potential topics will focus on career development (e.g., publication and grant writing, communicating science, different career paths, etc.)  Students and Early Career travel and childcare grants are also available.

Social events are being planned for both in person and virtual attendees. These will provide fun, social activities for both student meeting participants.  Plan on visiting with friends and meeting new ones during these gatherings.

Details about these events are forthcoming.

Student Workers

Student workers are a very important part of each ASLO meeting and this tradition continues with the 2023 Aquatic Sciences Meeting.  This program is designed to be rewarding for students, as well as a great work experience.

Student workers will be needed to serve as room monitors, as well as at the registration desk, during this meeting in Palma, June 4-9, 2023.  To help defray expenses, students will receive a stipend of $100 for working the scheduled assignment, at completion of each job.  Qualifications include being registered as a student for this meeting, as well as presenting during an oral or poster session.

The Call for Student Workers will be issued in late March or early April.
