Faculty Positions in Marine Science (closes 12/31/2019)

The College of Marine Sciences at Shanghai Ocean University (www.shou.edu.cn) invites applicants for 5 faculty positions. Applicant should have Ph. D. degree in marine science or related fields. For associate professorship level, candidates must have at least 2-year postdoctoral experience and good publication record. For full professorship level, candidates must have demonstrated ability to secure extramural funding for their research, mentor graduate students and teach the course at undergraduate/graduate level. All candidates are expected to establish an independent research program and contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate education in physical oceanography, chemical oceanography, marine geology and marine remote sensing, etc.

Interested candidates are required to send a PDF file including (i) a cover letter, (ii) future research interests and plan no more than 3 pages (single-spaced) including figures, (iii) a current CV including the list of peer reviewed publications, and names and addresses of three referees to ypxu@shou.edu.cn.

Successful candidates will be offered competitive salaries based on the qualifications and experiences in accordance with the policy and guidelines of Shanghai Ocean University and Shanghai government.

About Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU): SHOU, founded in 1912, is a multi-disciplinary applied research-based institution of higher education. It is jointly established by Shanghai Municipal Government, State Oceanic Administration and the Ministry of Agriculture. The main campus of SHOU is located in Pudong New District, Shanghai. There are three main disciples in SHOU, Marine Science & Technology, Food Science & Technology and Aquaculture. In 2017, SHOU was selected by Ministry of Education into the “Double First-Class Initiative” program for its First-Class Discipline of aquaculture.
