By Dervla Meegan Kumar and Sean McNally
Dervla and Sean here, the Fall 2017 ASLO Science Communication interns. We arrived in D.C. at the beginning of September and hit the ground running. Our first week with ASLO was spent on Capitol Hill, preparing for and partaking in a Congressional Visit Day and an Earth and Space Science Caucus briefing. Today marks the end of our first full week actually working at the ASLO Science Policy and Communication Office with Adrienne Sponberg, the Director Communications and Science here. For the duration of our internship we will be sharing our experiences in a series of blog posts. This week we reflect on our time on the Hill in a separate post. You can also learn more about us, our interests in science communication, and the internship by visiting the Science Communication Internship page.
