Access to ASLO Publications in the Wiley Online Library

The ASLO journals are hosted by our publishing partner, Wiley and Sons, at the Wiley Online Library.ย  Over 90% of ASLO's journal content is provided in open access!ย  Limnology and Oceanography:ย Lettersย is an entirely Open Access journal, available to all.ย  Archived content inย Limnology and Oceanography: Fluids and Environmentsย andย Limnology and Oceanography e-Lecturesย is also in Open Access.

As of 2021, all ASLO members are provided full access to all of the ASLO publication content.ย

The ASLO Publications

Limnology and Oceanographyย (print ISSN 0024-3590, online ISSN 1939-5590) is published in 6 issues per annual volume, and includes original articles and review papers about all aspects of limnology and oceanography. The journal's unifying theme is the understanding of aquatic ecosystems. Submissions are judged on the originality of their data, interpretations, and ideas, and on the degree to which they can be generalized beyond the particular aquatic ecosystem examined.

Limnology and Oceanography: Methodsย (ISSN 1541-5856) is published in annual volumes and will consider manuscripts whose primary focus is methodological, and that deal with problems in the aquatic sciences. Manuscripts may present new measurement equipment, techniques for analyzing observations or samples, methods for understanding and interpreting information, analyses of metadata to examine the effectiveness of approaches, invited and contributed reviews and syntheses, and techniques for communicating and teaching in the aquatic sciences.

Limnology and Oceanography Lettersย publishes letters, essays, and current evidence articles on any aquatic systems scaling from molecules to global cycles. Studies integrating cross-disciplinary perspectives, boundaries, scales of space or time, or aquatic system types are encouraged. Articles including applications of science to management or policy that are broadly applicable to other aquatic systems are welcome.

Theย Limnology and Oceanography Bulletinย (ISSN 1539-6088) is published quarterly and contains up to 3 peer-reviewed Articles per issue, Letters to the Bulletin, and ASLO News (information for the ASLO membership). Articles for the Bulletin are short, should be of broad interest to the entire ASLO membership (and outside readers as well), and may cover such diverse topics as: new directions or methods in aquatic science; new findings on, or interpretations of a major topic; and political and educational issues/approaches.

Limnology and Oceanography e-Lecturesย (ISSN 2164-0254) are prepared by experts on various topics in aquatic sciences. They are peer-reviewed and fully citable. L&O e-Lectures are intended as a practical resource for educators and researchers for use at the postsecondary level or for the public at large. Each L&O e-Lecture includes presentation slides, detailed lecture notes to facilitate lecture usage and recommended reading lists for lecture users and targeted audiences. Presentation slides are available in PowerPoint and PDF formats and are both PC and Mac compatible.

L_O_E-LECTURES

L&O Fluids and Environmentsย was published between 2011-2014 in partnership with Duke University Press. It focused on the interface of fluid dynamics and biology, chemistry, and/or geology in aquatic systems. Although the journal has been retired, its content remains freely available.
