Transportation Information

Water Ferry Schedule
The Savannah Belles Ferry operates daily, servicing three locations: Trade Center Landing, located between the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center and the Westin Hotel; City Hall Landing, located on the River Walk, below City Hall, adjacent to the Hyatt Hotel; and Waving Girl Landing, located on the River Walk, adjacent to the Marriott Hotel. Present your ASLO badge or hotel room key when boarding any Ferry.

Three Ferries will operate on a continuous basis during peak conference hours, 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Sunday, and 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, and noon to 6:00 PM, Monday through Thursday.

Service Schedules: The Savannah River is part of the Intracoastal Waterway System, with special rules for vessels crossing the river. This schedule may sometimes be delayed briefly by weather or visibility, or by larger vessels moving up and down the river. We appreciate your patience.

Bus Transportation
Gray Line bus services will provide auxiliary ground transportation to and from the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center for ASLO members. Buses will pick-up and depart from the locations and times specified below. Present your ASLO badge or hotel room key when boarding buses.

RED ROUTE PICK-UP:
Savannah Desoto Hilton: Pick-up on Liberty Street in front of hotel.
Radisson and Days Inn: Pick-up on Montgomery Street, ½ block south of the Radisson hotel

BLUE ROUTE PICK-UP:
Marriott: Pick-up on General Macintosh Blvd. (next to where cars enter Marriott parking lot)
Mulberry: Pick-up on Houston Street, right in front of hotel
Hampton Inn, River St. Inn, and Planters Inn: Pick-up on Abercorn, ½ block south Hampton Inn

Car Rental
AVIS has been appointed the official car rental company for the American Society of Limnology and Oceanography meeting in Savannah, Georgia. Taxi/ Bus Service to the Airport
Taxi service from the Savannah International Airport to any of the conference hotels will cost approximately $20.00 USD for one passenger. Typically taxi service operators charge for additional passengers at a rate of $5.00 per passenger. If you prefer to take an airport shuttle bus or another type of transportation, please consult the Savannah International Airport web site at http://www.savannahairport.com/groundtransport.php for a list of services.

Local City Transportation
Chatham Area Transit (CAT) provides free transportation service on its CAT Shuttles between the Savannah Visitors Center on MLK, Jr. Boulevard and the waterfront, as well as throughout the historic district. The shuttle makes five stops in the waterfront area. The free CAT Shuttle serves Savannah’s Downtown and Historic District and connects to other CAT bus routes and the Savannah Belles Ferry service that provides daily service between Hutchinson Island and River Street.

Savannah International Trade and Convention Center Parking
For those attendees planning to bring their vehicles with them while visiting the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center, there are designated specific areas strictly to be used by clients and guests. The main parking lot is located adjacent to the facility and can be accessed by either of the two parking booths located at the east and west entrances of the center. The daily charge is $3.00 per day per car.

Special Airline Rates
The Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is approximately 15 minutes from downtown Savannah. Delta Airlines is providing special rates for ASLO Summer Meeting attendees as the official airline for flights to Savannah. Simply contact Delta’s toll-free number at (800) 241-6760. You also can call your travel agent. To take advantage of the discounted airfares being offered by Delta, please refer to Delta File Number: 201012A when making your reservations. Delta’s new “bonus” program has increased the discount to 10% off the lowest applicable fare for tickets purchased less than 60 days prior to departure and 15% for tickets purchased at least 60 days prior to departure. By ensuring that the meeting number appears on your ticket, you will be supporting ASLO.

Airport Shuttle Service
