Participants who registered for this field trip will be bussed to the 89,000 acre preserve west of Los Alamos where a van tour will be led by chief scientist Dr. Robert Parameter, University of New Mexico. He will discuss the history of the preserve and research covering A to Z (archaeology to zoology-mammals, fish, and invertebrates). This preserve is a national treasure that was acquired by the U.S. government in 2000 from a family that used it as a working ranch. Busses will depart from the Santa Fe Convention Center, on the Grant Avenue side, between Federal Place and Marcy Street, at 07:30 and will return at approximately 16:00. This event is sold out.
