Water snake, Georgian Bay, Lake Huron

The site is among the many little granite islands of the North Channel of Georgian Bay. The date was July 2003. The water snake was sunning on a rocky beach but took to the water when we approached. It was quite a large snake -- over 1 m long. This is the first of two photos.
