Severe channel scour of a small tributary of Loon Creek in the Frank Church Wilderness Area (Idaho, USA). The scour event was caused by a forest fire that destroyed vegetation, and a thunderstorm that provided a deluge down the channel, eroding it as if a bulldozer had passed through. Photo, July, 2004.
