Redside shiners (foreground; Richardsonius balteatus) utilize complex boulder and inundated vegetation as habitat in East Canyon Reservoir, Utah (USA). Reservoirs often lack suitable habitat, but when full, flooded boulders and vegetation at the lake margin provide hiding places for these shiners, as well as juvenile rainbow trout.
