Anglers display a large lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) captured in Bear Lake, Utah-Idaho, USA. Lake trout are not native to the lake, and are maintained largely by stocking of juveniles. This large predator feeds on many of the endemic forage fish in Bear Lake. Because of their sport value and large size, lake trout have been stocked in many lakes in the western United States. In some systems, they are responsible for losses of native species.
