Description: A rushing stream enters Redfish Lake, located in the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho (USA). Streams entering lakes can either flow out over the surface (overflow), or if they are colder, and thus denser, the water may plunge to some intermediate depth in the lake and "interflow". The cold water in Redfish Creek will sometimes plunge as deep as 12 m (40 feet)into Redfish Lake. Photo, July 1997.
