Description: Rip current at Palm Beach, Sydney, Australia. The purple dye was released in the feeder and accelerated straight out the rip-neck and extends past the surf zone. The dye took approximately 2 minutes to reach this seaward point. This image is from a collection of hundreds of beautiful images ,Geomorphology: A Collection of Images, sold to raise funds for The Association of American Geographers Geomorphology Specialty Group Student Research Fund.
