Kootenai Falls, Montana
Kootenai Falls is a spectacular set of falls and rapids on the Kootenai River in Montana (USA). The drop is nearly 27 meters (90 feet) in about 1.6 km (1 mi). A hydroelectric dam was proposed for the site but never built. It is a popular kayaking site. River discharge at the time of the photo was around 400 cubic meters per second.
The falls were used in the adventure movie "The River Wild" starring Meryl Steep and Kevin Bacon.
