San Rafael River, Utah
The San Rafael River flows through majestic red rock sandstone of the San Rafael Swell. This image was taken near the San Rafael Campground at the bottom of Buckhorn Wash. The river contains three sensitive species, the roundtail chub, bluehead sucker and flannelmouth sucker. These are currently being studied in the river by a research team lead by Dr. Phaedra Budy at Utah State University.
