The sacred Myojin-ike Pond is spring-fed and crystal clear. It was formed by a landslide that damed the Ichino and Nino ponds. The pond marks the innermost shiren of Hotaka-jinja. A 3 cubic meter per second stream leaves the beautiful pond. A brown trout (Salmo trutta) was present. Chubu-Sangaku National Park in the Japanese Alps.
