Morphology of Orestias ispi, an abundant pelagic species from Lake Titicaca (Peru/Bolivia). Note the protrusible mouth (b) evolved for suction feeding on zooplankton and the tightly interdigitating gill rakers (c) that help retain zooplankton. See Vaux et al. 1988.
