Adult Orestias ispi captured in a gill net that was deployed in Lake Titicaca, Peru (1984). These endemic fish are extremely abundant in the pelagic zone, but come to the littoral zone of the lake to spawn. See Vaux et al. 1985. Ecology of the pelagic fishes of Lake Titicaca, Peru-Bolivia. Biotropica 20:220-229.
