Chilean flamingos and stilts black-necked stilts (Himantopus mexicanus) on a beach of Mar Chiquita (Cordoba, Argentina). Mar Chiquita is a hypersaline lake--the largest in South America. At the time this was taken the lake had 65 g/L of salt. The birds, however, were in an area where freshwater springs decreased the salinity some what.
