Apple Snail, Parana River Floodplain

Eggs of a golden apple snail (Pomacea canaliculata) on a plant in the Parana River floodplain approximately 20 km south of Goya, Argentina. The shell was actually empty and placed below the egg mass. The snails have been widely distributed into other contents and recent studies have focused on its role as an invasive species.
