A dam on the Logan River creates 2nd dam reservoir. The small reservoir diverts water for run-of-the-river hydropower generation. The diverted water is carried in a pipe nearly horizontally for a few miles, and then it is allowed to fall vertically through another pipe into the generation plant. This sort of power generation creates fewer problems due to tall dams and large reservoirs, but the diverted water is lost to the river until it is returned downstream.
Second dam has facilities for disabled people to access the put-and-take fishing.
