Zooplankton sampling with a 50-liter Schindler-Patalas zooplankton trap in Bear Lake (Utah/Idaho). When lowered to a given depth, the doors on this trap close automatically, capturing a given volume of water with plankton. When brought to the surface the plankton are filtered through fine-mesh netting on the side of the trap. Photo ca. August 1985.
