      A capybara along the shore of Ibera Lake, Esteros Ibera, in north-central Argentina. The capybara is the world's largest rodent. They are approximately 60-cm tall and adults weight about 45 kg (100 lbs). Their Latin scientific name (Hydrochoerus hydrochoerus), means 'water pig' amd the common name from the Guarani language means 'Master of the grasses'. They are hunted for their meat.
