Trees in the wetlands of the Parana River floodplain show dark, high-water marks. Floating water hyacinth are below the trees. Multiple reservoirs along the Rio Parana now limit the extent of flooding.
The photo was taken in a channel about 40 km southwest of the city of Goya, 19 May 2010.
