Originating from Sierra Nevada snow melt in the Truckee river watershed and Lake Tahoe, the Truckee River flows into Pyramid Lake, a natural terminal lake within the ancestral homelands of the "Kuyuidokado" (Pyramid Lake Paiutes/Cui-ui eaters).
