      Surber Sampler for Aquatic Invertebrates
      next

A professor demonstrates the use of a Surber sampler for collecting aquatic invertebrates in streams. The frame of the sampler is placed on the bottom of the river, and the investigator then picks up the rocks within the frame and rubs the insects off, allowing them to be washed back into the net.

This sampler has a long handle on it, which is somewhat unusual.
