The peaks of Antelope Island and Promontory Point (background) protrude above the fog covering the Great Salt Lake (Utah). Here these appear as they might have 15,000 years ago when prehistoric Lake Bonneville was 300 m (1000') deep and covered much of the basin. The remnant Great Salt Lake is only 10 m deep now.
