Centric diatom cell 180 microns in diameter sampled in a mixed species diatom bloom in the southern Bering Sea, April 2008. Lugol fixation/light microscopy. These very large diatoms are low in abundance but common in the Bering Sea and western Arctic Ocean. Species name?
