In convergence zones, orange brine shrimp cysts (resting eggs) accumulate, along with foam and other material. In calmer weather, these slicks of cysts are harvested by commercial brine shrimp fishermen, processed, and sold to the aquaculture industry.


In the background is Fremont Island and in the distance the snow-caped peaks of the Wasatch Mountains.
