Limnologist Katey Walter is setting a trap for methane bubbles on a small thaw lake in Bering Land Bridge National Park on the Seward Peninsula, Alaska in November 2008. A trap like this is left for 1 to 3 days, hopefully yielding enough gas for C14 dating.
