In summer and fall, reservoirs in Utah (USA) are often drawn down extensively, exposing sediments. This often leaves only fine substrates that provide little habitat for fish and other organisms.


Spring runoff from the Little Bear River is retained in Porcupine Reservoir and used over the summer for irrigation.
