Anomalies of the absorption by non-algal colored matter, which is mostly composed of colored dissolved organic matter (CDOM) originating mainly from degraded vegetal matter. Warmer colors indicate higher values and cooler colors lower values relative to the mean oceanic value for the respective trophic status of the area as estimated by the chlorophyll concentration. Black pixels are either where no data is available or land.
