      Antelope Island, Great Salt Lake
      next

Antelope Island "floats" in the waters of the Great Salt Lake, Utah. Most of the island is a State Park that has abundant wildlife (bison, antelope, mule deer, bighorn sheep) and other recreational opportunities. Antelope Island is currently connected to the mainland at its southern end (right in photo). Only when the Great Salt Lake's level increases markedly does the "island" truly become an island. A marina is located on the NE end, as is a visitor facility. Bridger Bay, on the NW side of the island is a popular beach where people experience the highly buoyant waters of the lake.
