Justus von Liebig
Justus von Liebig (1803-1873), a German chemist working on agricultural chemistry and fertilizers, who is best known in aquatic science for his 'law of the minimum', that plant growth is controlled not by the absolute concentration of nutrients, but by that of the nutrient in lowest supply relative to needs.
