Description:

A sea lion and brush are part of the community that colonizes volcanic islands after they emerge from the sea. Tens of thousands of years are necessary before soil is formed. Animals that forage in the sea but rest on land bring needed nutrients and organic matter to the new lands surface and help with soil development.
