Beaver meadows form when beavers abandon a site and the former pond drains. They are the primary form of wetland in the Adirondack Park, New York. This beaver meadow is located in the southern Adirondacks. The lack of standing tree snags suggests this is an old beaver site. Recently, beavers have reoccupied the site, and the pond is refilling.
