Duck decoys on Cutler Reservoir (northern Utah) on a foggy September morning. Inversions in Cache Valley allow fog to accumulate it the bottom lands. This is particularly prevalent in the early fall when the water is warmer than the overlying air.
The elevation of Cutler Reservoir, operated by PacifiCorp, is regulated slightly for hydropower production. It serves as an important wetland for birds, and for outdoor recreation (canoeing, bird watching, hunting).
