Fencing along riparian areas keeps livestock from overgrazing the vegetation. The fencing shown here in the Sawtooth Mountains on Valley Creek (Stanley, Idaho), was recently implemented to protect Chinook salmon and steelhead trout that spawn and rear in the stream.
