Description: This image is a specimen of the planktonic tintinnid ciliate (generally thought to be grazers of phytoplankton) Favella, containing the rtemains of another tintinnid, Tintinnopsis tubulosa. This favella is about 300 microns long and was found in the Black Sea by Nelly Gavrilova.
