A gold miner with his wooden gold pan along the Inambari River (Rio Huari Huari), Peru. Photo taken in 1982, about 1-day's boat travel below the Sandia-San Juan del Oro bridge over the Inambari. The indigenous mining at this time was causing heavy sediment loads in the river. Mining activity has increased greatly since then.
