Ceratium platycorne, a dinoflagellate. This one came from about 10 m depth in Semptember, sampled during the PECHE cruise in the N.W. Med Sea in 2004.The "platycorne" or flat horns appear to be variable in the species. this specimen seemed to me to have a claw.
