Avis has been designated the official car rental company for the ASLO 2013 Aquatic Sciences Meeting 2011 in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA. Special meeting rates and discounts are available on a wide selection of GM and other cars at the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport.

Taxicab
$33 flat rate from airport to downtown area for 1 or 2 persons, and $14 (per passenger) for 3 or more passengers.
Shuttle Service
A $4.00 discount is being offered to ASLO attendees by Shuttlefare for service between the New Orleans airport and the downtown hotels in the ASLO Block. To make your reservation, go to Shuttlefare’s web site at: www.shuttlefare.com and proceed, as follows:
- Click on “Airports” pull down
- Select New Orleans
- Click on Select Hotel , click on your hotel
- Select Go Airport Shuttle
- Press “continue booking”
- Choose the type of service you want, “pick up from airport” and “roundtrip”, click “schedule pickup”
- Click “reserve now” and add the discount code (ASLO) on this checkout page
- Continue with your trip information

Public Transportation
Busses and streetcars are available in the downtown area (they do not run to the airport). The cost is $1.25 for each time you get on.
