Ferry Services

Marine Atlantic (http://www.marine-atlantic.ca)  provides marine transportation (passengers and cars) between the Island of Newfoundland and the Province of Nova Scotia.  Its fleet includes Canada's two largest superferries, MV Caribou and MV Joseph and Clara Smallwood as well as the MV Leif Ericson.  Onboard you'll find comfortable lounges, private cabins, a gift shop, games arcade, movies, live entertainment (in season) and a variety of food service choices.  Daily service is provided year-round between Port aux Basques in southwestern Newfoundland and North Sydney, NS.  It is an 11 hours drive from Port aux Basque to St. John's. A summer season (mid-June to September) route provides tri-weekly crossings from North Sydney, NS to Argentia, NL located 130 km from the city of St. John's.
