Immediately following the opening plenary session, a mixer reception with Santa Fe flair will be held to allow members from both societies to become acquainted and to reconnect with friends and colleagues.

ASLO’s annual membership meeting will take place during lunch on Monday. All ASLO members and meeting participants are encouraged to attend. Box lunches will be available on a first come, first served basis.

This reception is an “invitation-only” event for NABS Endowment contributors and beneficiaries.

Though posters will be on display and available for viewing throughout the day at the La Fonda Hotel, poster presentations will take place during two evening sessions. Those who are presenting their research will do so during the receptions on Tuesday and Thursday evenings. Light reception foods will be served.

Immediately following the concurrent sessions on Wednesday, this informal reception will provide a time to relax and have a drink with your friends and colleagues prior to the banquet at the Santa Fe Convention Center. There is no formal poster session at this time.

The banquet is planned to offer the zest and the best of Santa Fe! This event is included with your registration, but it is sold out and you must pick up your ticket for the banquet at the conference registration desk when you check in for the meeting and before noon on Wednesday. The evening will include a live auction of items, the proceeds from which will benefit the student and graduate resource organizations from both societies.

Following the poster session on Thursday, this mixer and dance will give attendees another chance to get together and dance as they head into the final day of the meeting. Very light snacks will be served in addition to a cash bar. The sounds of The Hot Club of Santa Fe will be featured. Town Hall Discussion
Wednesday, 9 June, 12:00 – 13:15

NABS will conduct an open “Town Hall-style” meeting and discussion of the potential society and/or journal name change on Wednesday, 9 June from 12:00 – 13:15 in Sweeney Ballroom E-F, Santa Fe Convention Center. A brief introduction to the issue and description of the 15-month open discussion process will be followed by open-microphone discussions. Box lunches will be available for a donation. (The cost is $15.00 each). Ongoing discussions can adjourn to the Courtyard after 13:15. Please come and contribute to this important discussion.
A table will be set up Monday through Friday in the Santa Fe Convention Center lobby area near the conference registration desk for NABS members to ask questions, obtain information, and to provide their input on the name change discussions. The Name Change Committee is managing all of the web-based discussions, and will be present at the table to answer questions, discuss the pros and cons of name changes, and take your suggested new names for the society and the journal.
