THE EFFECT OF AMMONIA ON THE CULTURING OF PENAEUS VANNAMEI
The effect of ammonia on the culturing of Penaeus vannamei was tested using ammonia concentrations of 10, 15.5, 23 and 24 ppm. Harbor Branch fresh water with an ammonia concentration of .11 ppm was established as a control and 3 replicates were performed. The control had the lowest mortality (5%). The highest ammonia concentrations of 23 and 24 ppm had the highest mortality (97%).
